Winter is around the corner!

It’s time to gear up for another snowmobile season.  Your friends are asking if you have your sleds out and if you are ready for snow, right? Make sure to check over your sleds for the routine maintenance issues – check the belts, the track, the skis, the plugs, and maybe clean the carbs.  Make sure your sled is licensed.  Remember, South Dakota now sells annual licenses to be purchased at the same time has your vehicle licenses.  Ask those who know — the $10 license beats the $100 fine!  Also remember that most of the license fee goes into the snowmobile trails fund to pay for groomers, trail markers and the maintenance of the trail during the winter.  Last, but certainly not least, make sure you join your club.  You can pay your Driftbusters dues right on this site or just mail your $30 to the club address above.  Here’s to a great winter for riding!

Fall Driftbuster Newsletter

Driftbusters annual snowmobile club campoutHello everyone, It is hard to believe that School is starting and summer is coming closer to an end. I know that I have enjoyed the summer months with camping and boating with the nice weather that we had this year since it started in March with temps in the 80’s but the reality of it is that the snow is going to come sooner than later so we need to start to get our winter activities together.

Our first line of business will be the membership meeting Sept. 6th. at the Pizza Ranch at 7 pm. Then the fall camp out is coming up next weekend at Wylie campground Sept. 14th. and 15th. Friday night typically involves a night around the campfire with some good munchies. Saturday night will be the potluck meal. The Club will provide the meat, beverages and utensils. Club members are asked to bring a dish to pass. The go-karts will be from 7:30 to 9:30 pm at Wylie Thunder Road.

The Driftbusters are hosting the State Convention in November this year so we will need a lot of extra help so please come forward and lend a hand. I know that committee has been meeting all summer long working on getting things organized for the convention. Please contact email Kelly Weaver or email Ann Nagel  to volunteer your help.

Just a reminder our annual dues are due in Sept. Now if you prefer you can download the form or pay them on line on the membership page of our new web site. If you have a new email address please  email Cheryl Gelling  so she can continue to keep you informed of all activities.
