Snowmobile Safety Course set for November 24th

The Driftbusters will offer a free Snowmobile Safety Course  on Sunday, November 24 at 1 p.m. at the YMCA in Aberdeen.  Those who take the course and pass the certification test will receive a Snowmobile Safety Certificate from the South Dakota Game Fish and Parks.  Snowmobile safety certification is required to ride in many states for youth and adults.  The course is recommended for anyone new to snowmobiling and age 10 or older, you must be 12 years old to be certified.  We will be using the new SDSA safety simulator.     All are welcomed.

Make Plans for 44th Annual SDSA Convention!

Remember last year when the Driftbusters hosted the SDSA Convention in Aberdeen and what a good time we had? Think of how much fun we can have when we aren’t doing all the work!!  The SDSA Convention will be held Friday, November 1 thru Saturday November 2 in Huron at the Crossroads Hotel.

Friday activities include the Governor’s Advisory Board meeting, SDSA Board meeting, Presidents’ Meeting and Beer and Bull followed by SDSA Live Auction.  Saturday activities include the SDSA Annual Meeting, Snowmobiler of the Year Judging, and the SDSA Awards Banquet.   The 50/50 ticket drawing and the $10,000 Everybody Wins raffle will be held at the Awards Banquet.  Be sure to get your tickets now from your club board members.  MAKE YOUR PLANS NOW – IT’S A GREAT WAY TO KICK OFF THE SNOWMOBILE SEASON!

Haunted Forest Scene Meeting, October 14th

The Club will be hosting a scene again at the Haunted Forest this year.  Interested members are to meet at the Lion’s Den at Storybook Land at 5:30 pm on Monday, October 14th to gather props and review the space and plans for this year’s scene.    Volunteers are also needed to help with the scene during the Haunted Forest on the nights of Friday, October 26, and Saturday, October 27.  Any questions, contact board members Joey Nagel or Dan Rohrbach or President Jim Gelling.
