Driftbusters March Newsletter

Driftbusters March Newsletter

Hello Everyone,   I can’t believe it is the first of March and our snowmobile trail still does not have enough snow to ride on.  All we seem to get is a lot of bitter cold.  We only have 2 weeks left as the state says we can only groom until the 15th. of March.

Cheryl and I attended our 1st. Governor’s ride in the Black Hills and we really enjoyed it.  The hills have a lot of snow and the trails were awesome.  It sounds like it was the largest turnout that the Governor’s ride has had. The Aberdeen Driftbusters was well represented. We enjoyed talking to a lot of new people.

As you know we had to cancel our radar run but we did have the steak feed and we had a great turnout.  The steaks were awesome.  A big thank you to Jim Weaver and Sonny Pence for cooking the steaks, and to Alex and Diane Shaffer for hosting this event.  We raised $275 and several bags of food to be donated to the Salvation Army Food Pantry.  The winners of our raffle items were Chris Gelling—Towtector,  Jim Friedt and Paul Severson—$50 gift certificates from Dakota Motor Sports,  Dennis Beckler—Chrysler Center detail package,  Shawn Shaffer—Green Iron Equipment hoodie,  the 5 winners of the Driftbusters caps were Stacey Goetz, Billie Ham, Sharmie Henderson, Stacey Pence, and Kelly Weaver.  Thank you to all the people who donated the prizes for the raffle.

We will need to set a date for our pizza and swim party at our next meeting so if you would like to volunteer please contact Cheryl Gelling, Sec. or come to the meeting.

As I mentioned in our last month’s newsletter anyone who has any new ideas for changes to our snowmobile trail route please let us know as the deadline is approaching to turn in the trail proposal for next year.

Reminder to all new members that there is only a couple meetings left to get your free buffet meal certificates.

Our next meeting is March 6 at 7:30pm at the Pizza Ranch.  See you there.
