Driftbusters February Newsletter

We have received enough snow to groom the trail a couple of times but definitely need more snow.

We just came back from spending 4 days snowmobiling in the Black Hills. The trails in the Hills are the best up around the Trailshead area but off trail riding is still not recommended because of the very low base. The Sno Cross races Friday and Sat. in Deadwood were awesome. Whether or not you are a Tucker Hibbert fan it is fascinating watching him ride, he makes it look so easy and just dominates over everyone. Because a lot of members were not able to make it to the Hills for the club ride on Sat. morning from Trailshead there was a small turnout but the day was nice and those that participated had a lot of fun and were able to get in some good riding.

As of now we still don’t have enough snow to have our radar run on Feb. 6th. at Richmond Oasis.

Jefferson Lehman of Towtector’s has donated another Towtector to the Aberdeen Driftbusters Snowmobile Club. Our plans are to use it as one of our prizes at our upcoming convention this fall. To see what a Towtector is go to his web site which is www.ruggedgear.com and check it out. I have been in contact with Jefferson by email and phone and he would like several of our members with pickups and snowmobile trailers to participate in a photo shoot promoting the Towtector. We have agreed to meet with him and his photo crew on Sat. Feb. 6th. at the Richmond Oasis whether we have the radar run or not. Anyone that would like to donate the use of their pickup and snowmobile trailer for this event and to get more information you need to come to the Feb. 4th meeting at the Pizza Ranch at 7:30pm.

Just a reminder the Governor’s ride is Feb. 13th. in the Black Hills if you have not already made your reservations to attend this event you need to do so as soon as possible.

We also need to pick a date for the pizza/swim party so reservations can be made for this event.

Sept. 16th. & 17th. will be our fall campout and membership drive at Wylie Park Campground. The same block of campsites have been reserved for this event. We will be updating everyone with more details later.

I urge everyone to please attend our Feb. meeting to join in discussions for the up coming convention. We also will be having special meetings for the convention planning every 3rd. Tues. night of the month at 7pm in the Board room of the Ramkota.

Reminder the International Snowmobile Conference is June 9,10,11 2016 in Rapid City. I encourage anyone needing more information to please come to the Feb. 4th. meeting.

Think snow and see you at the Feb.4th. meeting at 7:30pm at the Pizza Ranch.
