October Newsletter

Hello Everyone,

Our fall campout and membership drive was a great success and a lot of fun. Friday night was a little damp and cool but the turkey and campfire was great. Weather was ideal on Sat. for the supper and Go-Karts. A big thank you for everyone that helped.

The club will have a float in the Gypsy Day parade next Sat. Sept. 26th.   So encourage everyone to go watch the parade. Club members will be handing out small cards promoting snowmobiling and asking everyone to join a club whether you ride the mountains or trails to protect your right to ride on public lands. Plans are to distribute these cards to several businesses around town.

Duane Sutton will be inducted into the Snowmobile National Hall of Fame Sept. 26th. in Eagle River, Wisconsin. Thank you to all who have supported him. The Driftbusters are honored to have Duane as a member.

The club plans to have a safety course on Sat. Nov. 21st. at the Primrose Gym. We will be using the snowmobile safety simulator. Anyone interested in taking the course please contact Corey Gelling at 226-4939.

In a few weeks it will be time to start marking our trail so anyone wanting to volunteer to help mark the trail contact Jim Weaver or any of the trail leaders.

The club will be having a club ride in the Black Hills, Jan. 22-23, 2016 which is also the weekend of the Sno Cross in Deadwood. More details later.

This years convention, which is being held in Watertown, is only a month and a half away. Details will be in the first issue of the Sno Plainsman which should be out shortly.

The Driftbusters will have a hospitality room at the convention promoting our convention in 2016.

For the next several meetings we will be discussing the 2016 Driftbusters convention in Aberdeen. Anyone interested in helping with the convention please come to the meetings.

The Aberdeen Driftbusters are currently selling fund raiser tickets for the 2016 convention. First prize is $2,000 cash, Second prize is full registration for 2 at the 2016 convention, and third prize is 1 room for 2 nights at the 2016 convention.
