October Newsletter

I am not quite sure how it happens but another month has gone by and it is time for another news letter.

The two big things on the list are the state convention and getting the trail system marked.

Make plans to participate in the SDSA Convention which our club is hosting at the Ramkota November 11/12.  All the information you need is at the club website under the convention link.  Here’s your to do list:

  1. Gather donations for auction items.  We need items for both the live auction and silent auctions.  The club receives a share of the proceeds.  Items do not have to be snowmobile related.
  2. Help spread the word about the event and especially the snowmobile safety and avalanche rescue courses on Saturday.
  3. Buy and help sell gun raffle tickets.  Gun to given away at convention.
  4. Send in your registration – rates increase October 28th
  5. Book your hotel room – block will be released on October 10th
  6. Prepare to have a good time!!

All questions can be directed to Kelly Weaver (216-1564), Stacey Pence (380-7946) or Ann Nagel (228-4143).  Thanks for doing your part to make this event a success!!

The state convention is approaching fast and time will run out to get your rooms reserved for the convention. The date for the convention is November 11th and 12th and the block of rooms will be released on Oct 10th so make your reservation early so that you are insured a great time. It is looking like it will be another great event in Aberdeen this year again. There is an avalanche safety course for free for all to attend and a snow mobile safety course which is also free for anyone that would like to attend. There will be a craft class for people to sign up for and take part in along with so many other vendor booths to visit. We are in need of items for the silent and live auctions so the club is asking all members to ask as many places for a donation that you know.

The nominations for youth, man, women, family and groomer of the year need to be turned in no later than October 29th.

The trail signing time is here again and the crops are coming out of the fields at a very good rate. If the ditches are mowed and the field work is done it is time to go and get your portion of the trail put in.

REMINDER TO ALL MEMBERS: If you have not already done so please get your family membership dues turned in by Nov. 1 so your name can be entered in the SDSA $100 or $200 drawing at the convention for one member.

See you at the Oct. 6th. club meeting at the Pizza Ranch at 7:30 pm.
