Committee reports:

SDSA report: we are still waiting on the 50/50 tickets for the convention. Duane Sutton has been inducted into the Snowmobile National Hall of Fame.

Advisory report by Al Nagel, Al stated that all the forms for the snowmobiler of the year, etc. are on the internet as Mary Ann is not mailing any forms out so you need to download them if you are nominating anyone for those awards. The groomer operators in the Black Hills will be getting a pay raise. The state ordered one new groomer and there are some trail reroutes, trails 12 and 13 are being moved.

Trail report by Jim Weaver: The groomer was stored at Dennis Beckler’s this summer. The groomer was inspected by GF&P in late Aug. and is ready to go. There are no route changes this year. The trail leaders are all on board to mark their sections of the trail. The trail needs to be marked by Nov. 20th. but we can start marking them the end of Oct. providing the ditches are mowed.

Safety: Corey Gelling will be teaching the course again this year and suggested maybe we could have the course on Sat. early afternoon instead of Sun. the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Charity/Publicity: nothing to report at this time.

Activities/trail rides: Because the club ride in the Black Hills was a great success last year we will have one again this year. The date is Jan. 22 and 23 2016 which is also Sno Cross weekend in the hills. Al Nagel will check on getting a block of rooms at Rec. Springs again.

Monthly News Article: Ann Nagel volunteered to do this.

Old Business: Discussion was held on the Haunted Forest. The decision was made not to do it this year unless someone new wants to volunteer to head the project and take care of all the details. Being this is our main fund raiser discussion was held on other ways to raise money to pay for things such as the Go Karts, like selling split pot tickets at every meeting or at the steak feed or chili feed.

New Business: The club received an email from Becky Graff, of GF&P at Richmond that she will be transferring to Oakwood State Park by Brookings and Robert Teachout will be taking her place. Final preparations were made for the campout and membership drive. Evan Halverson and his wife have donated one of the turkeys that will be cooked Fri. evening. Turkeys will be served at around 7pm and 9pm. The club will provide the meat (chicken drummies and roast beef sandwiches) and beverages at 5pm on Sat. GoKarts will follow from 7:30pm to 9:30pm’ All members are asked to bring a dish to pass. Discussion was held on the

Gypsy Day float. It was decided the club would have small business like cards made up promoting snowmobiling and reasons why you need to join a club, to be handed out at the gypsy day parade and other events.   Jim Weaver made a motion to donate $250 to ACSA and Ken Ham seconded, motion carried. Discussion was held if we need to cash in one of our CD’s to pay for expenses for next years convention that our club will be hosting. Brent Fischer made the motion to we will just borrow from the trail fund instead and it was seconded by Al Nagel. Motion carried.

Convention report by Kelly Weaver: Kelly stated she has booked a hospitality room for 2 nights at the Watertown convention. Discussion was held on handing out some “save the date” cards at the Watertown convention for our convention next year. Discussion was held on the entertainment for our convention, Kelly stated that she has narrowed it down to a list of 5 entertainments and has sent the link to several members on base camp. It was decided to continue this discussion at campout. Discussion was held on a theme for our convention.
