September News Letter 2013

School has started and the Brown County Fair is over with and fall is here.  Hope everyone had a great summer and now is the time to start thinking about the upcoming snowmobile season.
First order of business is our first club meeting, Thurs. Sept. 12th.  at 7:30 pm at the Pizza Ranch.  I strongly encourage all members to attend as we have just found out Brown County is in the process of  moving all highway signs to the bottom of the ditches of all county roads as you can see by the picture I have attached.  We hope to have some answers on what this is going to do to our snowmobile trail system at the meeting.
Our second order of business is our campout Sept. 20 and 21 at Wylie Park.  If you have not already reserved your spot do so as soon as possible by calling 626-3512 and ask for Vicki, and be sure and tell her you are with the Aberdeen Driftbusters Snowmobile Club.  We will be cooking turkey’s again on Friday night and Sat. night will be the pot luck meal.  The club will provide the meat, beverages and utensils and club members are asked to bring a dish to pass followed by the Go-Karts from 7:30pm to 9:30pm at Wylie Thunder Road.   All club members are invited to come join us whether you are camping with us or not.
Just a reminder our annual dues are due in Sept.  You can pay them at the meeting, campout, on line on the Driftbusters web site or mail it to Driftbusters Snowmobile Club Inc.  P.O. Box 204, Aberdeen, S.D. 57402-0204  If you have a new email address please contact Cheryl Gelling at Driftbusters@nrctv.com so she can keep you informed of all activities.
We need to find ways to increase our membership so if anyone has any ideas please bring them to the meeting or campout.
See you at the meeting,  James Gelling, Pres.
